The H. Ric Luhrs Performing Arts Center is the newest addition to the campus of Shippensburg University. This state-of-the-art facility is destined to become a cultural axis in the south central Pennsylvania region.

In three words, the mission of the Luhrs Center is to educate, enlighten, and entertain. The Luhrs Center accomplishes this mission through its dual role as a performance arena and an instructional facility.
As a performance venue, the Luhrs Center offers high-quality programming designed to appeal to a wide range of audiences. Live performances create a magical moment in time, allowing performers to transport their audience to a place where new ideas and thoughts are explored in a variety of unique ways.
As home of the
Shippensburg University music and theatre arts department, the Luhrs
Center offers much-needed instructional and rehearsal space for students
and faculty alike. The performing arts play
an important role in the learning experience. Through the media of dance, music, and theatre, performers express emotions, pose questions, and stimulate critical thinking.
