Job Responsibilities, Bonuses, and Qualifications

Hours

Phonathon calling takes place  Sunday through Thursday from
5:45 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

 

Salary

Starting salary is minimum wage.

Raises between $0.10 -$0.25 are given each semester.

 

Bonuses

You will receive:
      * $1 for every hour you 

             worked during  the 

             phonathon, providing you 

             work the  required two 

            nights a week (Bonuses 

            given at the end of the  

            phonathon)
      * a free t-shirt with the   

            phonathons funniest 

            phrases
      * extra hours of pay based on   

            your performance
      * gifts from local merchants 

            and vendors

 

 

Primary Responsibilities

Phonathon callers are responsible for:

     * contacting alumni, parents, and friends of SU;

     * providing information about the University and

            the Foundation;

     * updating prospect information;

     * completing pledge cards;

     * maintaining tally sheets of calling activity; and

     * serving as an ambassador for SU and the

            SU Foundation.

 

Qualifications

      * A clear and pleasant speaking voice and 

              an excellent command of the English language.

      * Reliable and able to work well with others.

      * Able to convey passion and enthusiasm for

             Shippensburg in a positive and mature manner.

      * Willingness to follow instructions and a high

             regard for details.

      * Previous telemarketing experience is NOT

             necessary.

      * Must be a current Shippensburg University

             (undergraduate or graduate) student.

      * Must attend four nights of phonathon caller

             “boot camp” training.
