 Voluntary
annual support plays a critical role in the life of Shippensburg University.
Support via the Annual Fund provides more than a margin for excellence:
Annual Fund support enables Shippensburg University to set high standards
of excellence and to meet them. In the face of shrinking public funding
for higher education, Shippensburg has stayed its course, focused on providing
the best possible opportunities for its students, and continued to develop
as a university. |
| Nowhere is
the continuing commitment to Shippensburg University more clear than in
the Annual Fund. Alumni, parents, friends, corporations, and foundations
have boosted their annual giving to the SU Foundation for the benefit of
the University, achieving a new record in 2000. Many alumni made gifts to
Shippensburg for the first time, demonstrating their belief in the University. |
| Annual Fund
gifts have supported professional development for faculty, boosted support
for scholarships, underwritten library purchases, and made possible purchases
of computers and scientific equipment. They have made possible theater performances,
public lectures, and a host of other things that bring vitality to our campus.
Without this generous support, Shippensburg would have been forced to say
"no" to many exciting plans that became realities. |

Fund support as part of Navigating into the
Future is a clear endorsement of the important role that voluntary
annual support plays in the life of Shippensburg University. This indispensable
source of annual support must be maintained and enhanced during the comprehensive
campaign. All contributions to the Annual Fund over the years of the Campaign
will be counted toward the Campaign's total. |
