Contributions to the SU Foundation benefit students, faculty, and staff at Shippensburg University in a variety of ways. The chart above highlights the overall areas of support to the University, but we would also like to share with you some specific examples of people who have benefited from contributions to the Foundation.

Scholarships are the largest area of support provided to the University through the Foundation. Jacob Crouse, an outstanding junior majoring in psychology, is one of the many students who depend upon scholarship support in order to attend SU. With a GPA of 3.82, Jacob has proven that he is well-deserving of scholarship aid. He would like to thank the individuals who give to the SU Foundation because he feels that they have played a key role in helping him to succeed.

Jill Rakowicz, a graduate of the art department, cannot emphasize enough the value of her education here at "Ship." She says, "Technology played a major role in my educational experience. The Golden Apple Computer lab gave me the opportunity to gain experience in graphic design and allowed me to fine-tune my artistic skills in creating visually appealing illustrations and designs."

Jessica Smith, Joyce Snyder, and Raymond Mowery were awarded undergraduate student/faculty research grants, which helped to provide a wonderful opportunity for them in their senior year. Jessica, Joyce, and Raymond performed their student-teaching at the Navajo Reservation in Arizona, allowing them to learn about another culture while fine-tuning their teaching skills. Joyce says, "This was a great learning experience because we were actually submerged in their culture. We took what we had learned in the classroom and applied it to the real world in an amazing way."

These are just a few of the hundreds of people who have been touched through the spirit of giving that is so prevalent in our benefactors. We hope that these examples inspire you to continue to support the worthy cause of higher education.
