  The Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School stands as a focal point for nearly unlimited opportunities, providing "Ship" students with a venue to explore new topics, seek new opportunities, and broaden their understanding of principles, people, and issues.  
   
   
   
 
Attached to Shippen Hall, the Grace B. Luhrs University Elementary School is a pioneering laboratory school that builds upon the University's tradition of preparing teachers and reputation for excellence. The facility is a technologically advanced school that combines an innovative curriculum and research in pedagogy with opportunities for observation of master teachers.
 
   
  Designed to conserve energy and be environmentally safe, the Grace B. Luhrs School includes day care facilities, a library, a computer laboratory, daycare/early childhood education classrooms, and science facilities as well as classrooms and a playground. Between 145 and 160 students are enrolled at the Grace B. Luhrs School in kindergarten through fifth grade, with instruction by public school teachers and University faculty members.
