Achievement - Freshmen Scholarships
Erna Wright
Berkheimer Scholarship
For incoming, full-time, freshmen who are residents of PA and who
intend to major in Education. Applicants must have a combined
SAT
score of at least 1200 and rank in the upper 10 percent of the high school
class. Recipients of this four-year scholarship must maintain a 3.2 cumulative
GPA at the end of each academic year, complete 12 credits per semester, and
major in education.
Grant and Susan Conaway Blowers
Memorial Scholarship
For incoming full-time freshmen that reside in Huntingdon County,
PA, have
SAT
scores of 1100 or more, and rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school
class. Recipients may retain the scholarship for a maximum of four consecutive
academic years provided the recipient completes a minimum of 12 credits per
semester and maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year.
Mary Beasley
Burch Gifted Minority Student Scholarship Fund
For full-time minority students with a minimum score of 1050 on the
SAT
and who rank in the upper ten percent of their high school class. This
scholarship may be retained for 8 academic semesters provided the recipient
completes an average of 15 credits per semester, maintains a 2.8 cumulative GPA
at the end of the freshman year and a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the
sophomore and junior years. The
SAT
requirement may be waived at the discretion of the selection committee if a
candidate ranks in the upper 5 percent of their class and shows evidence of
exceptional academic potential.
Dr. Angelo and
Mrs. Dolores Costanzo Gifted Minority Student Scholarship Fund
For full-time minority students, preferably freshmen with
SAT
scores of 1050 or more and who rank in the upper ten percent of the high school
class. The
SAT
requirement may be waived at the discretion of the Selection Committee if a
candidate ranks in the upper five percent of their high school class and shows
evidence of exceptional academic potential. Recipients of this eight
academic semester scholarship must complete an average of fifteen credits per
semester and maintain a 2.8 cumulative GPA at the end of freshman year and a 3.0
at the end of the sophomore and junior year.
Francis J. Dixon Family Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to incoming full time freshmen who attended
any of the high schools in
Cumberland
, Dauphin, Lancaster and
Lebanon
counties in PA. Applicants must
have a class rank in the top 10 percent. This
scholarship is contingent on available funding. Additional information on

John G. and Julia F. Geiling Memorial Scholarship
Candidates must be entering
freshmen with an SAT score of 1200 or above who rank in the upper 10% of their
high school class. In case of
candidates of equal ability, level of need, distribution of the scholarships
among schools and departments, and representation from different geographical
areas will be considered. This
scholarship may be retained for four years provided the student maintains a 3.2
GPA.
Gifted
Minority Student Scholarship
For entering, freshmen, minority students who score a minimum
SAT
of 1050 and who rank in the upper 10 percent of their high school class. The
SAT
requirement may be waived at the discretion of the award committee if a
candidate ranks in the upper 5 percent of their class and shows evidence of
exceptional academic potential. Recipients may retain the scholarship for
a maximum of eight academic semesters, provided the recipient maintains a 2.8
cumulative GPA at the end of the freshman year and a 3.0 cumulative GPA for the
sophomore, junior and senior years. The recipient must carry an average of
15 credits per semester. The scholarship awards committee will consider
requests for exceptions to these criteria.
Norman E.
Greenawalt Scholarship Fund
For incoming full-time freshmen who reside in Franklin or
Cumberland County, PA, with priority given to students who graduate from
Shippensburg Area Senior High School (or its successor) with
SAT
scores of 1100 or more and who rank in the upper 20 percent of their class.
Recipients of this four consecutive academic year scholarship must maintain a
3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of the academic year and complete twelve credits
per semester. Applicants must complete the FAFSA.
H & H Chevrolet Scholarship
For local incoming full-time freshmen with
SAT
scores of 1000 or more who rank in the upper 25 percent of their high school
class. Applicants must have
graduated from one of the following school districts in
Pennsylvania
: Chambersburg, Shippensburg,
Big Spring
, Carlisle, South Middleton, or
Cumberland
Valley
. Applicants must complete the FAFSA to be considered. This scholarship
may be retained for four consecutive academic years provided the recipient

George C. and Patricia R. Hoopy Scholarship
For incoming full-time freshmen who have
a minimum

score of 1100 and have graduated in the upper fifth of their high school class.
Preference will be given to students who have graduated from

. This scholarship may be retained
for 4 years providing the student maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA each year and
completes a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
Richard H. Hosfeld Memorial Scholarship
For incoming full-time freshmen who
graduate from

Senior High School
(or its successor) with

scores of 1100 or more and rank in the upper 25 percent of their class.
Recipients of this four consecutive academic year scholarship must maintain a
3.2 cumulative GPA at the end of the academic year and complete 12 credits per

This scholarship is for full-time freshman entering
Shippensburg
University
within the Division of Undeclared Majors. Recipients must have a minimum
SAT
score of 1150 and rank in the top two-fifths of their high school class.
Recipients of this four consecutive academic year scholarship must maintain a
3.0 cumulative GPA at the conclusion of each academic year and complete 12
credits per semester.

Memorial Scholarship
First preference is given to applicants whose high school of origin
is in Mifflin or
Juniata
counties, PA. Recipients must have a minimum
SAT
score of 1100 and graduate in the upper one-fifth of their high school class.
Recipients of this four consecutive year scholarship must maintain a 3.2
cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year and complete 12 credits per

's State System of Higher Education's Board of Governors’
Scholarship Program
The Board of Governors’ Scholarship is awarded to full time
undergraduate students meeting certain academic standards.
Freshmen recipients must meet or exceed certain academic standards based
on a combination of SAT scores and high school class rank.
Transfer applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
This scholarship is renewable provided the recipient meets the
established GPA and credit requirements.

Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to a graduate of the
Shippensburg
Area
School District
with first preference given to applicants from the Middle Spring community. The
recipient must demonstrate academic excellence, outstanding character, and
citizenship. This scholarship is not renewable.
Lynn G. and Evelyn R. Walck Scholarship
This scholarship is for a full-time freshmen with a minimum
SAT
score of 1200, graduating in the upper one tenth of their high school class.
Preference is given to applicants from the
Waynesboro
school district. Recipients of this
four year scholarship must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 and complete a
minimum of 12 credits per semester.

This scholarship is for a full-time

Scholarship
This scholarship is for an incoming full-time, female, freshmen
with a minimum

score of 1100 who ranks in the upper one-fifth of their high school class.
The recipient should demonstrate good character and citizenship. Recipients of
this four consecutive year scholarship must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Banks Memorial Scholarship Fund
For a full-time second-semester freshman or sophomore student with
a minimum GPA of 2.0 who is completing 12 credits per semester. Recipient
must be a student of the Academic Success Program (formerly known as the ACT 101
Higher Education Equal Opportunity Program.)
The Bard Townhouses Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to
upper-class, full-time, undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA of at least
a 3.3 on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must reside in a property managed by
James Properties, Inc. If there are no applicants who meet the above criteria,
this scholarship will be awarded to an incoming full-time freshman who resides
in the
Commonwealth
of
PA.
Freshman applicants must have a minimum
SAT
score of 1100 and graduate in the upper 10% of their high school class.
Financial need is considered and applicants are required to complete the FAFSA.
This scholarship is renewable for 3 years if awarded to a full-time upper-class
recipient provided the recipient remains a resident of a property managed by

year. If awarded to a full-time freshman, this scholarship may be retained

Glencoe, Inc. Scholarship
For incoming full-time freshmen that
have demonstrated their abilities by their high school grades, test scores,
academic awards received, and by the examples they set in their personal lives.
The financial, family, and social circumstances of each applicant is taken into
consideration. Recipients of this four consecutive-year scholarship must
maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year and complete 12
credits per semester. This scholarship is funded by annual gifts made by the
publishing company to the Shippensburg University Foundation and is renewable
pending availability of funding from the benefactor.
James A. Hughes Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students
from specific School Districts from the
Philadelphia
area (a list of eligible schools available upon request). This
scholarship is guaranteed for the freshman year only. Scholarship
recipients may reapply to be considered for scholarship renewal if they meet
specified deadlines, maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA, and submit a
written reference from one of their teachers or advisors endorsing them as a
scholarship recipient. This scholarship is contingent on available

Student Scholarship
This scholarship is
presented to incoming full time freshmen who have graduated from high school
with an SAT score of 950 or above, with a GPA of 3.0, who have demonstrated
financial need by completing the FAFSA. Preference shall be given to applicants
who are African American and who have graduated from the Philadelphia Public
School System. This scholarship may
be retained for four years providing the student completes an average of 15

For incoming full-time freshmen who have academic abilities and

Applicants for this award must be incoming freshmen who are in need

This scholarship is for incoming full-time freshmen who come from a
single parent household. Applicants

Clarence Schock Foundation
Scholarship (SICO Foundation)
These scholarships are a memorial to Clarence Schock (1865-1955),
founder of The SICO Company and The SICO Foundation.
The Clarence Schock Foundation scholarships are valid for four years.
They are awarded each year to a number of entering freshmen whose legal
residences are in the following Pennsylvania counties: Adams, Berks, Chester,
Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lancaster, Lebanon, and York, provided the
student is or will be a graduate of a secondary school in the same counties.

Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is presented to entering full-time freshmen who
have achieved a minimum SATscore of

Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is for juniors enrolled in undergraduate programs
administered by the Government Department. GPA and letters of
recommendation are taken into consideration.
Dev Hathaway Memorial English
Scholarship
For incoming, full-time, freshmen entering an undergraduate degree
program administered by the English Department. Recipients must have a
minimum
SAT
score of 1300, rank in the upper one-fifth of their high school class, and
achieve a high school GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale. This scholarship
can be retained for four consecutive academic years provided the recipient
completes a minimum of twelve credits per semester, remains enrolled in
undergraduate degree program administered by the English Department, and
maintains at least a 3.2 GPA at the end of each academic year.

Scholarship
This scholarship is for incoming
full-time freshmen interested in a career in the publishing field who will
pursue a degree within a related discipline, English or
Communication/Journalism. Although open to all students, preference is
given to those from an underprivileged background. This scholarship may be
retained for four consecutive academic years provided 12 credits per semester
are completed, a 3.0 cumulative GPA is maintained at the end of each academic
year, and a degree in the publishing field (English or
Communications/Journalism) is pursued. This scholarship is renewable
pending availability of funding from the benefactor.
Nancy Kelley Ashton and Mildred
Jarrett Kelley ’16 Memorial Music Scholarship
For incoming or already enrolled students
who are pursuing a minor in music. Candidates
must have graduated in the top fifth of their high school class and have
achieved
SAT
scores acceptable to

. Currently enrolled students must
have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. This
scholarship is renewable providing the student completes 12 credits per
semester, continues to have music as a minor, and maintains a cumulative GPA of
3.0 (on a 4.0 scale.)

McCarthy Memorial Scholarship
Recipients must enter an undergraduate degree program administered
by the English Department. Applicant must complete the FAFSA to be
considered for this scholarship. This scholarship may be retained for four
consecutive years provided the recipient completes a minimum of 12 credits per
semester, remains enrolled in an undergraduate degree program administered by
the English department, and maintains at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA at the end
of each academic year.
Alan D. Potena Memorial
Scholarship
For incoming, full-time, freshmen pursuing a broadcasting degree
within the Communication/Journalism Department. Preference is given to
students from Adams, Bucks, and
York
counties, PA. The student must score 1000 or more on the
SAT
and rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school class. Financial need is
also taken into consideration. Candidates are required to complete the
FAFSA. This scholarship may be retained for four consecutive academic years
provided the recipient maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the conclusion of each
academic year, pursues a broadcasting degree within the Communication/Journalism
Department, and completes a minimum of 12 credits per semester.
John Weldon Scott Scholarship
For incoming full-time freshmen, or
students currently enrolled, who are majoring in French or Spanish (BA), with or
without Secondary Education Certification, or in International Management (BSBA)
or who have a minor in Ethnic Studies, French, German, Spanish, or International
Studies. Priority consideration will
be given to qualified students of any minority race.
Recipients must have achieved at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA.

This scholarship is for incoming full-time freshmen who are
residents of
Lebanon County

PA
, with first preference given to graduates of the
Lebanon
School District
who intend to pursue a degree in Communication/Journalism.
Second preference is given to all other graduates of the
Lebanon
School District
and third preference to other applicants intending to pursue a degree in
Communication/Journalism. Applicants are required to complete the Free
Application of Federal Student Aid. This scholarship may be retained for
four (4) consecutive academic years provided the recipient meets the following

Helen Crouse English Composition Scholarship
This scholarship is to aid a student who has a demonstrated
financial need and has shown improvement in writing skills in a freshman
composition course. The English Composition committee will select the
writer of the most distinguished essay to receive this scholarship.
History Department Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to full-time students enrolled in an
undergraduate degree program administered by the History Department.
Applicants must have completed at least 60 credits, have a cumulative GPA
of at least 3.224 (on a 4.0 scale); submit a portfolio record or other evidence
of their work in their history courses, and an application essay outlining their
qualifications for the scholarship
Michael Kretschman Memorial Theatre Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a sophomore who has achieved a
minimum of 30, but no more than 60, credits prior to receiving the award.
Candidates must have a minimum of 2.5 cumulative GPA, demonstrate an on
going dedication to the theatre in the area of production or performance and
completed the FAFSA to be considered for the award.
Mark Lipper Journalism Award
This scholarship is presented to communication/journalism majors
who have achieved senior status and a minimum grade point average of 3.2 on a
4.0 scale. Candidates must also be active in extra-curricular journalism
activities and submit a 400-word letter outlining their career ambitions.
Richard E. and Phyllis J.
Marshall Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to
upperclassmen who are enrolled in the
College
of
Arts
and Sciences with preference given to the following majors: English, Biology,
Chemistry, Earth Science, Mathematics or Physics.
Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2, complete a minimum of 12
credits per semester, reside in PA, and demonstrate good character and
citizenship. The scholarship may be retained for three academic years provided
the recipient continues to meet the criteria.
Albert A. Mason, Sr. Journalism
Award
This scholarship is presented to a sophomore or junior majoring in
journalism who has maintained a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
in his/her major and has been active in extra-curricular activities associated
with his/her field of study.
Benjamin S. Nispel Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a senior enrolled in the
College
of
Arts
and Sciences who has a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2 and who has provided
outstanding service to the
Shippensburg
University
campus community.
John Weldon Scott Scholarship
For incoming full-time freshmen, or
students currently enrolled, who are majoring in French or Spanish (BA), with or
without Secondary Education Certification, or in International Management (BSBA)
or who have a minor in Ethnic Studies, French, German, Spanish, or International
Studies. Priority consideration will
be given to qualified students of any minority race.
Recipients must have achieved at least a 2.8 cumulative GPA.
Bennie S. Truax Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to students in their second year, or
more, of service on the Shippensburg University Band staff who demonstrate
leadership and dedication through their activities in the marching band and/or
concert band. Character and citizenship are also taken into consideration.
Recipients must have achieved an overall GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4.0 scale and
have earned 90 or more credits prior to the start of the academic year for which
the scholarship is awarded.
Mathematics/Science
Majors - Freshmen
Computer Science Scholarship
For students majoring in computer science with the highest combined
SAT
score and rank in the top twenty percent of their class. Selection will
be made on ability and projected promise only. This scholarship awarded in
the fall is renewable in the spring if the student maintains at 3.0 cumulative
GPA, remains a computer science major, and completes twelve credits per
semester. The Computer Science Scholarship is a one-year,
undergraduate scholarship.
Janice Tarner Crawford Memorial
Scholarship
This scholarship is available to incoming
full-time freshmen with an interest in medical technology.
Recipients must be PA residents with preference provided in the following
order: 1) Residents of Franklin, Lehigh or Northampton counties enrolling as
biology or chemistry majors indicating an interest in medical technology; 2)
Residents of other Pennsylvania counties enrolling as biology or chemistry
majors indicating an interest in medical technology; 3) Residents of Franklin,
Lehigh, or Northampton counties majoring in biology;4) Residents of other
Pennsylvania counties majoring in biology. Recipients
must demonstrate financial need. This
is a four-year renewable scholarship.
Annabel Heberlig Eisenberg
Loan/Scholarship
For incoming, full-time freshmen, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in
Education within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
Recipients must have a minimum
SAT
score of 1100 and rank in the upper twenty percent of their high school class.
This loan/scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years provided the
recipient completes a minimum of 15 credits per semester, maintains a 3.2
cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year and pursues a Bachelor of
Science in Education within the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
It is the intention of the benefactor that these loan/scholarships be awarded to
students with a desire to teach mathematics at the secondary level. The
loan/scholarship will be forgiven according to the following provision: for each
year of full-time employment as a teacher of secondary mathematics, $1,000 of
the loan/ scholarship will be forgiven. The recipient has six years from the
date of graduation to meet this requirement.
Dr. Alfred V. Gunter Memorial
Scholarship
For incoming, freshmen students, majoring in an undergraduate
degree program administered by the Biology Department. The recipient must
have a minimum
SAT
score of 1100 and rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school class. This
scholarship may be retained for four consecutive academic years or until
graduation, which ever comes first. To retain this scholarship, the
recipient must maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher at the end of each
academic year, must complete a minimum of 12 credits per semester, and remain
enrolled in an undergraduate degree program administered by the Biology
Department.
William F.
Morris Scholarship for Math and Science Secondary Education
For incoming, full-time, freshmen or current students in good
standing, with a minimum, 3.0, cumulative GPA.
Recipients must be Teacher Education candidates intending to complete the
core subjects in Teacher Education for certification purposes in the subject
area of secondary mathematics and/or secondary science. Applicants must
have a minimum
SAT
score of 1100 and have achieved above a 3.0 average for their high school
college preparatory mathematics and science courses. Applicants are
required to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

For incoming freshmen with

scores of 1100 or more who rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school
class. Recipients must enter a
degree program within the Biology Department, with preference given to
candidates pursuing a Health Science degree. Recipients may retain the
scholarship for a maximum of four consecutive academic years provided they
complete a minimum of 12 credits per semester, remain enrolled in an
undergraduate degree program administered by the Biology Department, and
maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year.

Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to an entering freshman or sophomore
majoring in biology who have graduated in the upper 20 percent of his/her high
school class and achieved
SAT
examination scores of 1100 or more. The scholarship is renewable for up to four
years provided the recipient achieves a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 in his/her
freshman year and a 3.0 in his/her sophomore and junior years.
Rohm and Haas/Edward M. Szapacs
Scholarship
For incoming, full-time, freshmen
entering an undergraduate degree program in the Chemistry Department.
Recipients must have a minimum
SAT
score of 1050 and rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school class.
Recipients of this four consecutive year scholarship must maintain a 3.0
cumulative GPA at the conclusion of each academic year, major in an
undergraduate degree in the Chemistry Department, and complete a minimum of 12
credits per semester.
Verizon
Scholarship for Computer Science and Technology
The Verizon scholarship is for incoming full-time freshmen with
strong academic qualifications and financial need. This scholarship is not
renewable. This scholarship is contingent on available funding. Additional

Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is for sophomore or junior Geography/Earth Science
majors who best exhibit several traits which were characteristic of the
benefactor: outstanding academic achievements,
GPA of 2.8 or better, academic improvements, personality, leadership,
and college and community involvement.
Dr. Paul F.
and Elizabeth Hoffeditz Cauffman Scholarship Fund
This scholarship was established through contributions from former
students and friends of Dr. Paul F. Cauffman, who served the University as a
teacher and administrator for twenty-two years.
This award is presented annually to one or more students in secondary
education mathematics who excel in the discipline, have applied for professional
standing, and have a 2.9 or higher GPA. Recipients
are selected annually by a committee of the Department of Mathematics and
Computer Science.
Harold U.
Crouse Memorial Geoenvironmental Scholarship
Recipient must actively pursue a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of
Science degree in Geoenvironmental Studies within the Geography/Earth Science
Department. Recipient must have a minimum GPA of 3.2 within their major
and must have achieved junior status (60+ credit hours completed) prior to
receiving this scholarship. This scholarship is renewable for the
recipient’s senior year provided they maintain the required GPA and remain
enrolled in the Geoenvironmental Studies program. Graduates of

Scholarship
This one year scholarship is awarded to a full-time graduate
student within the Geography/Earth Science Department who will complete at least
six graduate credits during the semester in which he/she benefits from the
scholarship. Applicants must submit
a resume and written application that documents his/her academic performance,
research activities, community involvement, character, and the demonstration of
leadership and initiative.

Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a junior Chemistry major
demonstrating academic excellence and an interest in pursing a graduate degree.
Character, citizenship, and a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale are
factors in selecting the recipient. This scholarship is renewable for the
recipient’s senior year provided the required cumulative GPA is maintained.

Recipients must be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program
administered by the Mathematics/Computer Science Department. Recipients must
have achieved junior status (completed 60 or more credit hours) prior to
receiving this scholarship and have achieved an overall GPA of 3.2 on a 4.0
scale. Students who receive no other privately-funded scholarships and/or
demonstrate an extenuating financial hardship will be given preference.

Capital Blue Cross/John L. and Cora I. Grove Business
information Systems Scholarship Program
For incoming full-time freshmen majoring in Business Information
Systems, with
SAT
scores of 1100 or more, who rank in the upper tenth of their high school class,
enroll in the Honors Program, and agree to complete an internship with a
corporate sponsor of the Business Information Systems Scholarship Program.
Internships will take place during the second semester of the junior year and
the following summer; or, during the summer following the junior year and the
first semester of the senior year. The total amount of the scholarship
will equal the sum of the following: 1) Four years of in-state tuition; 2)
In-state tuition for two, three-week summer courses; and 3) Student living
expenses for two, three-week summer courses. Recipients of this
scholarship must maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative QPA at the end of each
semester, complete 15 or more credits per semester, major in Business
Information Systems, and remain enrolled in the Honors Program. The
recipient must sign a Student Agreement Form. Funding for this scholarship
is based on the availability of funds from an external funding source.

Scholars Program
For talented incoming students who pursue a degree within the John
L. Grove College of Business, rank in the upper 20 percent of their high school
class and achieve a combined
SAT
score of 1100 or more. Financial need is taken into consideration.
Applicants must complete the FAFSA no later than February 28th of
each year. Recipients of this four consecutive year scholarship must
pursue a degree within the John L. Grove College of Business, maintain
cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year of 2.75 as a freshman, 3.0 as a
sophomore, and 3.2 as a junior, and complete 12 credits per semester. If a
recipient received a grade of “F” in any course at
Shippensburg
University
or violates the Honor Code, the scholarship will be revoked.
Highmark Blue
Shield Scholarship/Internship
For full-time undergraduate freshmen students who major in
Management Information Systems (MIS) with an
SAT
score of 1100 or greater and a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must agree to complete an official, compensated internship with
Highmark Blue Shield during the summer semesters of the sophomore and junior
year or an extended internship (one semester plus a summer for a total of eight
months) as mutually agreed to by Highmark Blue Shield, the Management
Information Systems Department Chair, the College’s Internship Coordinator,
and each recipient. Each recipient must register for at least six credits
(equal to one internship) with the John L. Grove College of Business.
Recipients must be registered for internship credit during the time in which
they are completing the internship experience. The scholarship may be
retained by a recipient through the recipient’s completion of 120 required
credits for graduation provided the recipient completes 12 credits per semester,
majors in MIS, maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA, and completes an internship with
Highmark Blue Shield. Failure to complete the internship will result in
the immediate loss of the scholarship.

For incoming freshmen students majoring in a degree of Finance in
the John L. Grove College of Business. Applicants

This scholarship may be retained for four consecutive academic years

Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is for incoming full-time freshmen, with priority
given to those students who are graduates of the Shippensburg Area or
Big Spring
school districts, pursuing a B.S.B.A. degree within the Department of
Accounting. In addition to demonstrating good character and citizenship,
applicants should have an
SAT
score of 1100 and graduate in the upper 20 percent of their high school class.
This four consecutive academic year scholarship may be retained if the recipient
maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year, completes a
minimum of 12 credits per semester, and pursues a B.S.B.A. degree within the

Information Technology for Business Education degree with teaching certification
within the John L. Grove College of Business. If there are no
applicants that meet this criteria, students who have declared themselves as
English majors seeking secondary certification will then be eligible.
Applicants must have a minimum score of 1000 out of 1600 on the SATs
and have graduated in the upper one-fifth of their high school class.

Arnold
Logistics, LLC, Scholarship/Internship Program
This scholarship/internship is awarded to full-time undergraduate
students majoring in Supply Chain Management and Operations in the John L. Grove
College of Business. The recipient must have achieved sophomore status (30
credits) prior to receiving the scholarship and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 (on
a 4.0 scale). Applicants must agree to complete an official, compensated
internship with Arnold Logistics during the summer semester of the junior year
or another semester as mutually agreed to by Arnold Logistics, LLC, the
respective Department Chair, the Internship Coordinator for the John L. Grove
College of Business, and each recipient. Each recipient must register for
at least one (1) internship credit with the John L. Grove College of Business.
Recipient must be registered for internship credit during the time in which they
are completing the internship experience. This scholarship may be retained
for the junior and senior year provided the recipient completes 12 credits per
semester, remains enrolled in the Supply Chain Management and Operations major,
maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA at the end of each academic year, and completes
an internship with Arnold Logistics, LLC. The internship will occur at a
time that is mutually agreed upon between Arnold Logistics, LLC, and the
recipient.
Harold and Helen Crouse Business
Scholarship Award
This award is presented to an undergraduate student enrolled in one
of the majors in the John L. Grove College of Business who has completed no less
than sixty credit hours of study. The recipient must have attained an
overall grade point average of at least 2.5 and a grade point average in his/her
major of at least a 3.0.
Cumberland
Valley
Society for Human Resource Management Scholarship
Applicants must be full-time undergraduate students within the John
L. Grove College of Business who are in the process of completing the Human
Resources Management concentration within the Management degree program.
Recipients must have achieved junior status (60+ credit hours completed) prior
to the first semester during which they benefit from this scholarship and have
at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA. First preference is given to active members
in the Shippensburg University Society for Human Resource Management Student
group and who hold membership in the Society for Human Resource Management, an
international organization. Any student who has already received this
scholarship during a given academic year is not eligible to receive it a second
time. The awarding of this scholarship is contingent upon the receipt of
the associated charitable contribution(s) from the Cumberland Valley Society for
Human Resource Management.
Fogelsonger Scholarship
For full-time students, in an undergraduate degree program,
administered by John L. Grove College of Business. Recipients must
demonstrate intent to pursue a career in the insurance industry.
Applicants who have completed or are enrolled in the Risk Management and
Insurance (FIN321) course, or any other insurance course offered at
Shippensburg
University
, will be given priority consideration. Secondary consideration will
be given to any applicant who has completed a business internship in the
insurance field. Recipient must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
This scholarship is awarded on an annual basis without any provision for
retention in subsequent years. If awarded to a student prior to his/her
senior year, the recipient may reapply for the scholarship but will not be
granted priority consideration.
Giant Food Stores Business
Administrations scholarship/Internship Program
This scholarship is presented to a
full-time undergraduate junior or senior student pursuing a Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration. The
recipient must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and must agree to complete
an official, compensated internship with Giant Food Stores.
This scholarship may be retained provided the recipient completes a
minimum of 15 credits per semester, remains enrolled in a Business
Administration degree program within the John L. Grove College of Business and
maintains a cumulative GPA of 2.8 at the end of each academic year.
The Herr Study Abroad
Scholarship Fund
Applicants must be full-time Shippensburg undergraduates who have
successfully completed at least thirty (30) academic credits and who intend to
participate in
Shippensburg
University
’s Study Abroad program. Applicants

to be considered for this scholarship. Prospective recipients shall apply for

Renetta F. Heiss Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to a junior
majoring in business education or business information system who demonstrates
academic excellence and the promise of success in the discipline.
Hershey Foods Corporation Scholarship/Internship Program
The availability of this scholarship demonstrates Hershey Foods
Corporation’s dedication to the education of young people who are pursuing an
undergraduate business degree. Applicants
must be full-time undergraduate students within the John L. Grove College of
Business and have achieved the appropriate number of credits giving them junior
standing prior to the first semester during which they benefit from this
scholarship. Applicants must have a
minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 and agree to complete an official, compensated,
internship with Hershey Foods Corporation during the summer following the junior
year as mutually agreed to by Hershey Foods Corporation, the respective
Department Chair, the John L. Grove College of Business Internship Coordinator
and the recipient. The student must
be registered for internship credit with the
College
of
Business
during the time in which they are completing the internship experience.
Smith Elliott Kearns & Company, LLC Scholarship/Internship
This scholarship is presented to students majoring in accounting
who have achieved sophomore status. Recipients
must have a cumulative minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be residents of
Adams,
Cumberland
, Dauphin,
Franklin

York
County
in
Pennsylvania
or Allegany,
Frederick
, Garrett, or
Washington

Maryland
. Recipients must complete a paid

The scholarship may be retained for the junior and senior years provided
the recipient completes a minimum of 12 credits per semester, remains enrolled
as an accounting major, and maintains a 3.0 cumulative GPA.

Recipients must have completed sixty (60) credits at
Shippensburg

prior to benefiting from the scholarship. Recipients must be enrolled in an
undergraduate degree program administered by the John L. Grove College of
