The 1975 50th Class Reunion Fundraising committee, has chosen to support the SU Foundation Student Emergency Fund and the SU Foundation Internship Opportunity Fund as our class gift. Both fund’s purpose directly impacts the needs of current SU students, and they do so immediately.
The SU Foundation Student Emergency Fund was established during the pandemic to assist Ship students who were unable to meet their immediate and essential expenses. The struggles that Ship students faced during the pandemic continue to be present. The cost of tuition, textbooks, food, and housing leaves many students facing the uncertainty of how they will pay their bills while completing their education. Many students face challenges related to their internships as well. Did you know many internships are unpaid? Yet, our students incur costs to complete their internships. The Internship Opportunity Fund affords students the ability to complete their internship without taking on additional expenses.
