Facilities Maintenance Manager

Are you a skilled maintenance professional who takes pride in keeping buildings safe, efficient, and operating at their best? The Shippensburg University Foundation is looking for a Facilities Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across a diverse portfolio of student housing, office space, and conference facilities, and leased properties. Because this role includes after-hours response when needed, candidates must reside within 30 minutes of the SU Foundation.

Salary: $50,000 – $75,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform and coordinate routine, preventive, and emergency maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building system issues
  • Determine when work should be completed internally or outsourced
  • Coordinate and oversee outside contractors to ensure quality and cost-effective service
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
  • Conduct regular property inspections and identify repair needs
  • Assist with student housing unit inspections, turnovers, and damage assessments
  • Maintain service records and ensure compliance with safety codes and inspections
  • Provide daily guidance to maintenance staff

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • 5+ years of building or facilities maintenance experience
  • Must live within 25 miles of Shippensburg, PA
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance
  • Proven troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Experience working with outside contractors
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Successful completion of a background check required

Preferred:

  • Trade certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or related field
  • Experience in residential or multi-property maintenance
  • Prior supervisory experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, and perform physical maintenance tasks
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions
  • Availability for after-hours and emergency calls when needed
