Shippensburg University Foundation

The Shippensburg University Foundation joins the University in mourning the death of Jack Roddick. Jack was a long time friend and benefactor of the SU Foundation. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and his Ship family.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Jack and Arlene Red Raider Football/Red Raider Track Scholarship. Click here to make a gift in Jack's memory:, SHIP mourns the loss of a wonderful, truly one-of-a-kind Raider in John "Jack" Roddick, who passed away on Saturday. "Papa Jack" devoted more than 70 years of his life to Shippensburg University through science, sport, and so much more.

In the athletics realm, Roddick coached football and track & field -- contributing to much prominence and many records in both sports. SHIP Athletics were near and dear to Jack.

Yet perhaps his most enduring legacies to SHIP are his tremendous, positive attitude and his ever-present attendance and volunteerism at university events. He will be very sorely missed.
