GET OUT! And help Shippensburg University be NUMBER 1 this year in the Outdoor Nation Campus Challenge! Pre-register by Monday. September 18.

Shippensburg University is competing against 92 other colleges and universities across the country (and their communities) over the next 4 weeks. The competition aims to get people outside and enjoying an active lifestyle whether it is hiking, biking, running, kayaking, gardening, bird watching..., etc.

This is the second year Shippensburg University is competing and last year it took 8th place overall out of 89 schools. With 453 participants logging over 3,000 outdoor activities it did very well. However, Ship wants to do better this year and with your help it can!

How do you get started? Use your mobile device (iPhone, Android, etc.) to download the Outdoor Nation app for free! Then register as an alum, a student, a community member, or staff member.

Pre-registration is open now through September 18 when the competition starts. To score points (and to qualify to win prizes) you can log up to 5 outdoor activities daily from Sept. 18 (12:01 a.m) through October 15 (11:59 p.m.). The activity must be at least 30 minutes duration. The app requires you to take a (time-stamped) photo showing evidence of you engaging in the activity (your hands, your feet, your shadow, your selfie, etc.) and post it to the app. You can see what other participants are doing, and you can keep track of your own points tally.
